Anyone can be a pioneer – this is the core message of the Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen. Located right next to Friedrichshafen, it brings 100 years of exciting aviation and aerospace history to life. The architecture, based on an aircraft hangar, houses around 400 exhibits over 5,000 m², including 12 original aircraft, seven 1:1 exhibits from aerospace and two full-scale replicas of the aircraft Dornier Merkur and Dornier Wal. It really is unusual: You walk through a 2o hectare area of woodland and over 200 Barbary apes are romping about in it. No fences or ditches separating them from you - the visitor is a guest, as it were, in the home of these alert animals and can even feed them with specially prepared popcorn.
